A journal for the curious reader
Trending Books

Good books. Lasting ideas.

Editorial approach

How we approach the books.

Clear sources. Visible relationships. Room for the reader’s own judgment.

Book profiles

Our launch articles are introductions based on identified public material from authors and publishers. Some also discuss an author’s public essays or excerpts. Each article links to its sources and explains the scope of the material examined.

A profile is not a review of a complete book. We do not imply that a writer has read the full text when that has not happened. A future full-book review should identify its reviewer, the edition read, and any relevant relationship.

Affiliation and authorship

Trending Books is a project by Scott Scheper and is affiliated with Greenlamp. The opening selection comes from Greenlamp’s catalog. Profiles of Scheper’s own books carry a specific disclosure.

Launch profiles and illustration were prepared with AI assistance. “Trending Books” is the publication byline; it does not represent an invented independent critic.

What you will find here

We describe a book’s subject, its stated approach, and questions a reader might bring to it. Interpretive passages are editorial commentary. Promotional claims by an author are not treated as independently established results.

We do not assign invented star ratings, manufacture quotations, or claim sales rankings without evidence. Health, financial, and other practical subjects are covered as book topics, not individualized advice.

Links to authors

Author links in the launch edition are direct links without affiliate tracking parameters added by Trending Books. An author’s site may sell books, bundles, subscriptions, or other products. Pricing and terms belong to that destination and may change.

Corrections and rights

If a detail is wrong or a source has changed, contact us with the article URL and the proposed correction. Book-cover images are displayed to identify the works being discussed; rights remain with their respective holders.
